Brain Jr 2 - Can't get full range of MIDI CC out of Analog Inputs

I've got a Brain Jr which I am testing.  I have connected a single rotary pot to one of the Analog inputs as described in the manual.

When I move the pot from it's Min to Max value, the MIDI CC values that I see coming out of the Brain range from 0-55 instead of 0-127.

Thinking that I may have got the wiring wrong, I swapped which connection from the pot is going to each of the connectors on the Brain Jr.  Doing this I either get the inverse (MIDI 55-0) or 55-127.  Upon double and triple checking the documentation, I've gone back to my original wiring which still gives me MIDI output of 0-55.

The output is good and stable. I don't think it's an issue with the cap I have in there.  I have all of the other Analog inputs turned OFF in the Brain2Configure software.

Oddly - When I move my connection to another input (and turn off the unused inputs, of course), I get DIFFERENT maximum values.  For example, when I move my connection to input 15, I get MIDI 0-88.  Move to input 7 and I get 0-101.

I've tried several different pots:  50K, 10K, 20K.  Linear and Audio.

Does anybody have a good clue of what I'm doing wrong/what is going on?  I don't.

Any suggestions welcome.  It's likely SOME form of user error.
