Hi,
I love the Base ableton script - my favourite way to control Live I think. There's just one feature I would love that is currently missing.
In Device Mode, there are two sets of buttons (bottom 4 buttons on the right hand side) which control device and parameter bank navigation - you can move the 'blue hand' back and forth between devices, and move back and forth between banks of parameters within those devices. This is great as the touch faders will update to reflect the state of the parameters in each bank.
It would be even better, though, to have direct access to each parameter bank. So there would be buttons 1-8 which, when pressed, select the corresponding parameter bank - no need to cycle back and forward, hoping that the right one is selected.
Does anyone know how difficult this would be to implement in the remote script? I know its possible to select parameter banks directly with, for example, the 'Bank1Select' command in the UserConfiguration.txt file.
I guess my ideal situation would be:
In device mode, instead of the two cycle buttons, just ONE button to shift the top row of touch buttons on the base. These top buttons, while shifted, would act as direct parameter bank select buttons. So "Shift + touch button 5" would update the touch strips to the selected device's 5th parameter bank, and so on. Another "shift" button from the numbered side-buttons on Base could act as a 'device select shift' in the same way, if that's possible.
Failing that, is it possible to 'de-activate' the Base pads from the script whilst in Device mode? I don't use the pads to play instruments anyway, and if they could be assigned arbitrary CC values, I could then build my own script from the UserConfiguration.txt file, and assign these pad buttons to navigate between banks and devices as above.
Basically just wondering if this would take 6 months to amend in the existing script, or if it would be an easy job?
IT would really make Base the perfect controller for Live, so I hope someone can help!
Thanks!
Chris
