Hi everybody,
I'm building my first controller. I'm going to use the Brain V2 and I have some doubts about what to buy exactly. Here's a pdf with the layout.
My main doubts are:
-I'm going to buy 3 omni boards. Two of them will carry 4 long faders + 4 pad buttons with RGB leds and the other one [the one in the center] 4 short faders + 8 potentiometers. Do I have to buy RGB Omni boards if I want RGB Leds? Or I'm going to be fine buying 3 normal omni boards and adding RGB through hole leds in two of them for the buttons? Maybe it's overkill to use RGB Omni boards if I just need 4 leds in each one. The thing is that I don't know if the RGB leds work with normal Omni boards.
-For the 16 button pads in the bottom I'm going to use a BYOB Push med board in four pieces of four buttons, with four 4X1 Omni keypads and four 4X1 Spacer layer for Omni keypads. Is this correct? I think it is, but I'd prefer to be sure...
-I've placed 6 encoders with 12 led bargraphs - http://www.adafruit.com/products/459 - in each side of the controller. The ones in the drawing are smaller, but you get the idea. That make 144 leds to deal with, right? If I add the other 24 leds from the buttons that' makes 168 leds, so this is going to work. Am I correct with this? I'm going to use a piece of stripboard or something to make a board for this; I hope the wiring won't be super-complicated...
-Besides this, I'm going to use two thumb joysticks, four arcade buttons and one extra slider as a crossfader. This will be directly wired to the front panel, without using any board.
I've been planning this for days, but I really want to be sure before ordering anything; so, if somebody could check this it would be of great help.
Thanks!
