Hey guys,
I'm new here, so hello everybody! :-)
I'm looking for a very specific set up of 64 push/rotary encoders with an LED ring each. The encoders should be arranged in a 8x8 grid. I would like to have different things assigned to the rotary part and the push part of the encoder. I would also like the device to be as transportable as possible and USB powered. Since I have a very specific use for this (a matrix mixer), the software side could be simple midi assignements in Ableton Live. But if it would be possible to get the same set up with encoders that have a higher resolution than 127 data points, that would be even better. I'm a total newbee without any soldering experience and little money. So the question is, is this goal achievable (preferably without soldering) with the DIY kits, what parts would I need to buy, how much would it cost here (and if it's not against the TOS I would also appreciate some pointers to other supliers of parts who might be cheaper for comparable quality). If someone already knows of existing controllers with this functionality, I'm all ears as well. Thanks to you all! :-) Tom
